Search a domain name before you commit to the brand
Check whether a domain appears active, parked, or open in the extensions that matter to your project — then understand what the result does and does not prove.
Start a free check →Domain search is often the moment when a promising name becomes a real shortlist. MyLaunch helps you search a domain name and its alternatives in one founder-focused report, so you can see availability signals, website context, approximate registrar pricing, and the next action without opening a dozen tabs.
How domain availability is checked
MyLaunch performs DNS lookups for the selected domain extensions. Active nameservers are treated as a taken signal, and a responding homepage is probed for additional context such as a live product or parked page. When DNS does not return active nameservers, the result is labelled as a first-pass available signal and includes a reminder to confirm it at a registrar because registration status can change quickly.
Which extensions can I search?
You can choose a practical set of extensions for the current project, including .com, .io, .ai, .co, .app, .dev, .net, .org, .xyz, .cc, and .design. The right set depends on your audience and product. A technology startup may compare .com, .io, and .ai, while a public project or community may also consider .org. MyLaunch keeps the TLD set visible in the report instead of hiding what was actually checked.
What to do when the domain is taken
A taken domain is not always an automatic NO-GO. Review whether it hosts a related product, a parked page, or an unrelated site, then compare a shorter spelling, a clear prefix, or another relevant extension. MyLaunch also returns alternative names and direct registrar search links, but it does not claim ownership, trademark safety, or a live purchase quote.
Frequently asked questions
Is a domain marked available guaranteed to be free?
No. MyLaunch uses DNS evidence for a fast first pass. Always confirm the exact domain and current price with a registrar before making a decision.
Can I search several domain extensions at once?
Yes. Select the TLD set you care about, and the report shows each checked variant separately.
Does the domain name checker include trademark search?
Not yet. Trademark and provider-backed brand checks are planned future capabilities and should not be inferred from DNS status.
